Catching and diagnosing cancer as early as possible is imperative, especially when it comes to mouth/oral cancer.
As with all our treatments, we’ll do everything we can to help you feel comfortable and at ease during the screening, but really it is a fairly simple process. First, we’ll examine the mouth for any red or white patches that may be present. Then, we’ll feel with gloved hands for any lumps, sores, growths or swelling.
In some cases, we may also use a special screening light or dye that can help determine whether there are any abnormal cells present in the mouth. If we find anything of concern, we’ll refer you to a specialist or ask you to return for further treatment.
